LIP BLUSH AND NEUTRALIZATION

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR NEW COSMETIC TATTOO:

Congratulations! You have taken the leap into the wonderful and liberating world of Cosmetic Tattoos. The information provided to you before your treatment explained in detail what would happen before, during and after your procedure. And now this Client Home Care information is provided to you to help you be aware of the steps that are needed to look after your investment.

The benefits of having a Cosmetic Tattoo procedure are as many and varied as the people who have them and in a few days, you will love the results and wonder why you waited so long to have it done. After the healing process has finished, and your touch-up has been completed, you will feel happy and confident knowing that you look great.

We recommend washing the tattooed area GENTLY 3-5 times a day (every 4-6 hours) with lukewarm water and a disposable paper towel, gauze or cotton round. Pat the area dry and apply a THIN layer of the barrier cream that has been supplied to you. Keep it out of the sun throughout the healing process. Do not apply ANY cosmetics in this area and avoid sweating for AT LEAST 10-14 days. Keep the area clean and let it breathe!

That's it. Enjoy your new look!  : )

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in colour and more sharply defined. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place, it will soften and lighten after the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel a bit like sunburn afterwards but there should be minimal discomfort.

  • Your lips will look slightly larger than normal due to swelling, which can last up to 1-3 days. The size of your lips will shrink back to normal within the first week. Cold compress can be used (refrigerated spoons or ice packs) to bring the swelling down for the first 48 hours but must be protects by a paper towel or clothe.

  • If you have EVER had a fever blister or a cold sore, then you MUST take an anti-viral medication or there is a high chance you will break out in an infection. Take anti-viral medication (Abreva, Valtrex, Zovirax or Famvir) 3 days post procedure, on the day of and 3 days after to prevent an outbreak.

  • Right after the procedure your lips will feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch. Your lips will feel better with each day. While healing, scabs will make your lips feel thick, and the tattoo will look spotty due to oxidization of the pigment. A slight crusting/scabbing may form, and between 3-7 days flaking off will occur and take some colour with it. If there is some scabbing or flaking, do not pick, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.

  • Apply a THIN layer of lip ointment several times a day, do not allow the lips to become dry (this may interfere with the healed colour). Make sure to gently glide it on with a Q-tip, do not rub in. This must be done until all scabs have fallen off naturally.

  • Please make sure to continuously hydrate lips with a lip balm for at least 3 more weeks.

  • The colour will significantly fade 40% - 60% within the first week. The complete healing process takes about 6-8 weeks, at which time the true colour of the tattoo is evident. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much colour has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. Wait at least 6 weeks to see the true colour, as it seems to take on new strength, and it is only after 6-8 weeks that your second session can be done.

WHAT NOT TO DO:

  • For the first 5 days, avoid hot soup or beverages, it is best to drink everything through a straw. Also avoid getting any soaps, shampoos or other cleansers on the treated area for the first 5 days as they can be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to stabilize in the dermis.

  • Please refrain from eating any foods that are greasy, oily or spicy, this can affect the healing results.

  • DO NOT pick or scratch at the dry skin/flakiness; let the skin fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment. IMPORTANT: Once the flakes have fallen off, a shiny layer of healing skin will appear. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared.

  • DO NOT apply make-up, creams, or soap to the tattooed area for the first 2 weeks. Cosmetics of any kind may interfere with the healing and colour of your tattoo.

  • DO NOT bleach, tint or dye the tattooed area for one month following the procedure.

  • DO NOT apply any anti-acne products (e.g. Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Proactiv, etc.) or lightening creams (skin bleaching creams) such as hydroquinone to the treated area while healing.

  • NO anti-aging products or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxyls (AHAs), Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic Acids

  • NO chemical peel facials

  • Do not thread, wax, or use hair removal products on the treated area while healing.

  • NO smoking for the first 7 days.

  • NO exercising and/or sweating for a few days prior to getting tattooed and for two week after.

  • NO swimming pools, jacuzzis or other bodies of water for two weeks.

  • Do not soak your face underwater in a bathtub or allow the shower to spray directly in your face for two weeks.

ONCE HEALED:

  • Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discolouration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen on the treated area. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for further protection. Rinse and dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.

  • Glycolic acid, microdermabrasion, and chemical face peel products must be kept away from the tattooed area as continued use could lighten the pigment.

  • If you are having laser resurfacing or laser hair removal after your tattoo has healed, please inform the laser technician. Continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, or discolour the tattooed area.

  • Once the treated area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be done at your second session no sooner than 6-8 weeks later.

  • Once healed, the colour will resemble (in most cases) a soft lip tint.

  • We are unable to predict the longevity of colour retention in the skin.

  • Every person’s skin responds differently to these treatments, and this information acts as a guideline only. However, it should be remembered that in most cases these guidelines give successful results if followed.

Day 3-7: Apply a thin layer of healing ointment as directed. Do not cover the area with makeup.

RADIATION MARKER CAMOUFLAGE

RADIATION MARKER CAMOUFLAGE AFTERCARE:

We recommend washing the tattooed area GENTLY 3-5 times a day (every 4-6 hours) with lukewarm water and a disposable paper towel, gauze or cotton round. Pat the area dry and apply a THIN layer of the barrier cream that has been supplied to you. Keep it out of the sun throughout the healing process. Keep the area clean and let it breathe!

DO NOT PICK OR DISTURB THE CAMOUFLAGE / PIGMENTED AREA. It is important that IF there is any protective scabs that they stay on during the healing process. Use a thin layer of provided ointment 2 - 3x per day for the first 5 days. Always apply ointment before before bathing or showering. No soap, shampoo, cleansers, or cosmetics on the pigmentation site for the first 5 days. No sauna’s, steam rooms, baths, and hot yoga, or anything that causes excessive sweating for at least 5 days. No swimming in chlorinated pools or beach for 2 weeks. No direct sun or sun tanning beds for 4 weeks.
25% - 40% of the pigment will fade off during the first 5 – 10 days of healing.  Area may appear to be healed, but it will not fully heal for 4 to 5 weeks.

We’re so honoured to help you heal from this part of your life!  : )

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Immediately following your procedure, the tattooed area will appear to be darker and bolder in colour and more sharply defined. This can last up to a week after the treatment while the initial healing process takes place, it will soften and lighten after the initial healing process takes place. • Once healed, the colour will resemble (in most cases) a freckle.

  • We are unable to predict the longevity of colour retention in the skin.

  • Every person’s skin responds differently to these treatments, and this information acts as a guideline only. However, it should be remembered that in most cases these guidelines give successful results if followed.

INKLESS STRETCH MARK & SCAR LIGHTENING AFTERCARE

It is very important to follow the post-procedure care of camouflaging to encourage the proper healing stages for optimum results.

  • Proper hygiene. Frequent cleaning prevents infections and it is important to use antiseptic soap before changing the plastic film and also before applying ointment in order to remove the product used on previous occasions. The washing can be done after the procedure and should be maintained while the skin forms a scab and the resemblance of a wound. This cleansing can be done during the bath. Do not rub the area or use scented soaps to clean the area, to prevent the incidence of allergies and help with the healing process.

  • Correct use of the ointment. The use of the ointment is done immediately after the procedure, which must continue during home care. Aquaphor is the most indicated ointment because it helps with the healing process. Ointments and antibiotics are excellent and can be used, but it usually requires a prescription at the pharmacy. On the first week, the ideal treatment is to apply the ointment three times a day, especially at night, before going to sleep. Its use must continue during the first 20 days.

  • Avoid all exposures to the sun. During the healing process, do not expose the camouflaged area to the sun for at least 60 days. The sun interferes with healing and with the fixation of the pigments, because the UV radiation reaches the dermis and causes an inflammatory processes that result in the re-absorption of pigments. It is recommended the use of sunblocks (sunscreens or UV wear). Avoid the beach and pool for 60 days (healing process), avoiding exposure to infections.

  • Do not remove the scab at all times. In the first 7 days, there might be a thin scab, do not touch it. It might fall on it’s own, and it’s function is to protect against skin infections. This crust (set of inflammatory cells, red blood cells, plasma and fibrin mixed with epithelial wastes) is the pigment in excess, which did not go through phagocyte.

  • Do not scratch the area of the tattoo. It is normal to want to scratch the area of the camouflaged area. Instead of scratching, give light pats on the area, it relieves without impairing healing. However, if the itching is very strong, the ideal is to seek dermatologist, because it may be an allergic reaction to the ink.

  • Avoid fatty and spicy foods. Food intake interferes with the healing process, which may cause allergies. Among the fatty foods are: port meat, chocolate, mayonnaise, egg, and any type of fried food. Seasoning, spices and conservatives should also be avoided, among them are: Ketchup, snacks, cinnamon, pepper, salt, canned foods, sausages, and fast food. Avoid the mall in the first 30 days and in addition to these avoid fish and seafood.

WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?

  • Do not take Advil after the procedure (next 24 hours)

  • First 2 weeks:
Cereve OR Coconut oil (if natural option is preferred) applied 2X per day (more if needed) to keep area hydrated

  • After 2 weeks and up to the subsequent treatment or 8 weeks from final treatment:
Coloplast (gel or balm) 2x day, massage thoroughly into treatment area.

  • I you want to accelerate results, you may consider using Retinol moisturizer 1 - 2 times a day with Cicaplast

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?

Day 1 - 4 :

  • Redness, swelling, tightness, feeling of being sunburnt, there may be an appearance of some specks of blood

  • Avoid all things hot sauna, hot tub, sweating, etc.

  • You can shower 12 hrs after procedure

  • Apply moisturizer/ Aquaphor 2 x day

Note: Always use sunscreen when treated areas are exposed to the sun

Day 3 - 7 :

  • Area will become dry, flakey, itchy and possibly a small amount of scabbing (DO NOT PICK)

  • Apply moisturizer/ Aquaphor 2 x day

  • Swelling should subside, redness might last up to 20 days

Day 40 :

  • The final result may occur between 30-60 days, to assess the need of touching up may be up to 60 days. In some cases it can take longer to heal, don’t panic.

LASH + BROW EXTENSIONS

EYELASH + BROW EXTENSIONS AFTERCARE:

A fresh, full set of eyelash extensions can change your entire look! You’ll be finding yourself addicted after your first set so it’s never too early to learn how to look after them. Here’s our top recommendations:

  • Avoid getting them wet for up to 24 hours after application.

  • Do not rub or touch your eyes.

  • Clean with eyelash foam cleanser or a gentle soap weekly

  • Brush through your eyelash tips in the morning

  • Do not use oil based products around or on the eyes

  • Do not sleep on your face

  • Stay on top of your lash fills (recommended every 2 - 3 weeks)

  • Wash the lash extensions at least twice a week to ensure proper retention. (If you wear makeup and/or oil based products around the eyes, always be sure to wash them off before bed).

AVOID GETTING YOUR LASH + BROW EXTENSIONS WET:

You should try to avoid getting your new lashes wet within the first 48 hours. The water will react with the eyelash extension glue and cause a flash cure. This is a little like cooking a chicken from the outside in - cooked on the outside and frozen on the inside. Basically, water will cause the lash bond to become brittle and break.

After the 48 hour period, you’re safe to shower again. It’s a myth that you should never get your eyelash extensions wet once having a new set, in-fact quite the opposite!

Top tip: When showering, don’t position your head in the full strength of water flow. Let the water instead run down your face.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY EYELASH + BROW EXTENSIONS?

Using a soft bristle brush and specialist eyelash extension cleaning foam, clean approximately every 3 days. Getting into this habit removes traces of natural oils, dust and make-up. This prevents any build-ups causing pressure on your lashes and breaking down the bond. Ultimately, you need to clean to avoid premature lash shedding. You can purchase lash shampoo and a soft cleansing brush at our studio, just ask our esthetician!

EYELINER AND MASCARA FOR EYELASH EXTENSIONS

You’re heading out and there’s temptation for more bold lash look so you reach for the mascara and eyeliner to pump up the volume. Please don’t do this! The product gets caught between lashes and build up. This, in turn, becomes much harder to clean and may lead to premature lash loss and affect your eye health! If you must add mascara, it’s vital that you’re using a water-based variant.

We take great pride in the eyelash services offered to our customers. If you need any advice, or you’re now ready to get your lash extensions, book an appointment online and we’d be happy to help.

WHAT NOT TO DO:

  • DO NOT apply waterproof mascara

  • DO NOT apply oil-based products around the eye area

  • NO water can come in contact with the eye area for 24 hours after the application eyelash extensions, lash lift, or brow lamination

  • NO use of pool, sauna, or spa for 48 hours after the application

  • NO tinting or perming of eyelash extensions

  • NO pulling or rubbing of the eyelash extensions

  • DO NOT engage in activities that cause excessive sweating

  • DO NOT sleep on your face

  • DO NOT take long showers and try to keep your lashes dry for the first 24 - 48 hours

  • For lash lift and tint - avoid sunlight exposure as it can speed up the process of lash tint fading

Lash Extensions Cycle

LASH LIFT

The great thing about a Lash Lift is that it is a very low maintenance procedure however, there is a little extra care required over the first 24-48hrs.

  • Be gentle with your lashes; no rubbing

  • Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hrs

  • Do not use harsh products on your eyes/lashes

  • Use of Sauna/Steam is possible after 24hrs but may weaken the effect of the lift

  • No eye make up for 24 hours

  • Avoid waterproof mascara

  • Swimming should be avoided for at least 24 hrs

  • No other facial beauty treatments for 24 hrs

  • A Lash Lift is a chemical service and can dehydrate the natural lashes (regardless of brand). The lashes must be conditioned daily to ensure that they remain nicely lifted. If they are not conditioned daily, they can become frizzy and unruly, even if they were not over processed. We recommend Keratin Elixir to ensure optimum results.

  • Mascara and oil-based products can be used after 24 hours

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Day 1

This is the most important period of the eyelash lift aftercare. For the first 24 hours, you need to be extra careful and follow all the tips listed above: don’t get your lashes wet, and don’t apply any products onto them. You might experience very slight redness and irritation. Apply a cold compress if it gets uncomfortable. If your lashes were tinted, stay away from sunlight.

Day 2

If the redness and irritation hasn’t subsided, contact your technician. Your lashes are still flexible, so you still need to be careful and avoid water, especially hot, steam, rubbing your eyes and sleeping on your face. Since they’re so elastic, you don’t want them to change shape!

Wait a little bit longer before applying eye makeup. If your lashes were tinted, stay away from sunlight.

Day 3

You can relax now and start behaving as usual, more or less. However, it’s advisable to still avoid mascara, especially waterproof formulas. They might contain oily ingredients which can relax the curl. Do not rub your eyes and avoid using aggressive makeup removers – especially oil-based ones. If your lashes were tinted, stay away from sunlight.

Days 4-20

You don’t have to do anything special anymore, and you can go back to all your normal activities, just keep avoiding oil-based products as well as those that contain exfoliates. They can relax the curl. If your lashes were tinted, stay away from sunlight.

Day 20

If your treatment included tinting, the color will start to wear off at this point. If you had your lashes tinted to add more depth, the tint will probably start to wear off at this point. Keep avoiding sunlight to prolong the tint a bit more.

Day 21

You can start applying an oil recommended by your artist to nourish your lashes. Techs like to recommend oils or serums that stimulate growth so your lash lift turns out even better next time around.

After the first 2-3 days, you don’t have to follow the lash lift aftercare instructions anymore – you can relax and go swimming, work out, wash your face, sleep in whatever position you like, and you don’t have to worry about your lashes. Just make sure you don’t use oil-based products until day 21.

MAINTENANCE:

Once the lash lift aftercare period is over, the results are really low-maintenance and you don’t have to worry much about them. It’s enough to brush your lashes with a spoolie from time to time, and refrain from touching your lashes and rubbing your eyes.

Lash Lift + Tint Cycle

LASH & BROW TINTING

DAY 1:

  • Do not touch or rub your eyes, eyelashes, or eyebrows immediately after the treatment.

  • If redness or irritation occurs apply a cool damp cotton compress to the eye area.

  • If symptoms persist for more than 24 hours seek medical advice

  • For the first two hours please avoid any water contact on the lashes or brows

  • Do not sleep on your face.

DAY 2:

  • Avoid hot water or steam on the face or near the eyes.

DAY 3 & continuously:

  • Please refrain from all attempts to rub the eyes or lashes.

  • Do not use oil based products or any conditioning treatments/ serums on the lashes.

  • This will cause the Semi-permanent mascara to dissolve faster.

  • Effects of the tint will start to diminish within 2 to 3 weeks as hair grows out and the tint colour fades.

  • Strong sunlight/UV light can make the tint colour fade faster– Use a gentle foaming facial cleanser or eye makeup remover and avoid exfoliating cleansers or those products containing AHA’s and oil

  • Do not apply makeup or mascara to lashes or receive any other eye treatments for at least 24 hours after the lash or brow tinting treatment.

CAN I BOOK A TINTING APPOINTMENT?

The following are NOT candidates to book Henna:

If you have experienced any reaction after colouring/tinting hair, lashes or brows in the pastIf you have a rash on the face or sensitive, irritated & damaged scalpIf you have experienced a reaction to temporary “black henna” ink in the pastIf you are under the age of 16.

If you are concerned about how your skin will react to the Henna, please book a free “Tinting Patch Test” 48 hours prior to your desired appointment.

WHAT DOES THE MAINTENANCE FOR TINTING ENTAIL?

Avoid contact with water for 24 hours after the procedure. Avoid steam, lotions, toners, & serums on the area for 24 hours after the procedure. Avoid aggressive cosmetic treatments (scrubs, peels, alcohol-based products, etc.)

Lash Lift + Tint Cycle

EYEBROW LAMINATION

Brow lamination is one of the hottest eyebrow treatments out there right now. With its ability to manipulate brow hairs into your desired position, it’s no wonder that brow lovers can’t get enough of the results. However, to maintain laminated brows you need to ensure that you’re following the correct aftercare. Our easy-to-follow brow lamination aftercare tips will ensure that you get the very best results, every time.

BROW LAMINATION MAINTENANCE 24-48 HOURS AFTER TREATMENT

  • As part of your eyebrow lamination aftercare, it is crucial that you:

  • Avoid getting the brow area wet for 24 hours

  • Avoid contact with direct sunlight, sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for the next 48 hours

  • Avoiding excessive rubbing or touching of the treated area for 24 hours

  • We also recommend that you follow these guidelines in the run up to and the days after your lamination treatment:

  • Avoid using exfoliating (be it AHA, BHA or scrubs) and anti-ageing skincare around the brow area for three days either side of your treatment

  • Avoid fake tanning products (including gradual tan) on the face for three days either side of your treatment, as it can discolour the eyebrow tint (unless you’re after khaki coloured brows)

  • Your stylist will apply some make up at the end of your treatment, however you should avoid applying any further heavy make up (foundations, etc) on the area around the brow for 24 hours

  • A Brow Lamination is a chemical service and can dehydrate the natural lashes (regardless of brand). The lashes must be conditioned daily to ensure that they remain nicely lifted. If they are not conditioned daily, they can become frizzy and unruly, even if they were not over processed. We recommend Keratin Elixir to ensure optimum results.

HOW DO I KEEP MY BROWS IN SHAPE AFTER BROW LAMINATION?

Brow lamination does not permanently set your hairs in your desired, brushed up position. It breaks down the bonds in your hair so that you can easily manipulate them into the look you want. All you’ll need to do is brush them back into place with a spoolie brush in the morning to get them back to that fluffy finish – no product required. These results will last for 6-8 weeks.

Extra tip: To really enhance laminated brows and maintain that freshly laminated look right up to your next appointment, an ultra-strong eyebrow gel will help.

CAN I GET MY LAMINATED BROWS WET?

You should avoid getting your brows wet for the first 24 hours after your treatment. Coming into contact with water could interfere with the lamination process and impact the longevity of your treatment. Avoid swimming pools and baths for 24 hours and be extra careful in the shower and when washing your face (avoiding if possible).

CAN I WEAR MAKEUP AFTER MY BROW LAMINATION APPOINTMENT?

Your stylist will apply some make up to complete your treatment. After that, we recommend that you avoid applying any heavy make up around the brow (such as foundation or concealer) for 24 hours after. The hair follicles can remain open for a while after hair removal, so if you are prone to sensitivity or breakouts, you may find that heavy make up could clog the pores.

CAN I GO ON A SUN BED AFTER BROW LAMINATION?

After hair removal, the skin can be left sensitive and prone to irritation from heat. For this reason, you should avoid sunbeds for at least 48 hours after your brow lamination treatment.

HOW CAN I REMOVE BROW LAMINATION?

Brow lamination is a chemical process, similar to a lash lift or hair perm, so is not something that can be removed. However, the hairs are not fixed in place so if you don’t like the brushed up position, you can simply brush them back down with a spoolie brush and they will stay in place all day. The results will fade after 6-8 weeks and your brows will return to their natural growth pattern.

WHAT SHOULD YOU PUT ON EYEBROWS AFTER LAMINATION?

It is strongly recommended that you apply a conditioning serum twice daily after brow lamination to maintain healthy, hydrated eyebrow hairs. You wouldn’t undergo a chemical treatment on your hair without conditioning and caring for it, and your brows should be no different.

WHAT SHOULD I NOT DO AFTER BROW LAMINATION?

Do not get the brows wet for 24 hours

  • Do not use sun beds, saunas, steam rooms and swimming pools for 48 hours

  • Do not touch or rub the treated area for 24 hours after your treatment

  • Do not exfoliate or apply anti-ageing skincare or tanning products around the brows for three days after your treatment

  • Do not forget to apply your conditioning serum twice daily
Stick to these rules for the very best results.

TOOTH GEMS

These stain-resistant gems make a great accessory for every occasion and add a lot but will never get lost. Plus, they can be affixed to any or all of your front teeth, so you can match the level of your flair to your personality.

Tooth gems can turn your day around, even when things are looking dark & the people around you are bringing you down. We’ve all heard the expression kill them with kindness. Now, when they throw shade, a simple smile will shine bright enough to wash it all away & lighten the mood of everyone around you.

Tooth gems go with all your clothes and exude confidence no matter how you express or identify yourself. Once you get a tooth gem, you’ll have a hard time not smiling, which leads to new friendships, better days & your best life. Think about the fun conversations you’ve had over that cool t-shirt you saw someone wearing, now imagine how many more of those conversations come with a tooth gem. It’s not all fun & games, either. We’re not saying that a gemmed smile that shows off your independent spirit & can-do attitude will land you your dream job…but we’re not not saying it either.

MAINTENANCE

Tooth gems are applied to teeth the same way traditional braces are, making it a reliable, proven method. Not only is the process safe & painless, it lasts until you want it removed & is fully reversible. Some customers have reported their stones have stayed in place for years with no need for another appointment! The gems require no additional maintenance once placed aside from avoiding solid foods for the first hour & don’t require a change to your brushing habits—so long as you have good habits, that is! You can still get your teeth cleaned every six months, too, so you don’t have to put off any preventative care, either!

You will notice something new in your mouth when getting the jewelry placed, but this should only last a couple of days as your mouth becomes used to the new addition. The gems are small in size and have no sharp edges, so there shouldn’t be any irritation once your mouth has grown accustomed to the jewelry’s presence.

If & when you decide to have the gem removed or replaced with another piece, all it takes is one quick appointment with your esthetician  & you’re all set.
